TUTORIAL: Reinventing the PINWHEEL

Ever since I was a young girl, I have loved Pinwheels.  They are so easy to make and can provide hours of fun.
Creating them on Scrapbooking Layouts is just as much fun.   So, for this weeks tutorial, I decided to find as many different kind of pinwheels as I could to share with you.. hope you enjoy creating these and add them to your layouts !
All templates can be saved and then sized to your requirements.

PINWHEEL 1:  STAR PINWHEEL
Cut out template from pattern paper.  Fold over edges inwards.  Ink all pieces and adhere with a brad or button.

PINWHEEL 2:  TRADITIONAL PINWHEEL
Cut out template from pattern paper.  Fold over edges inwards.  Ink all pieces and adhere with a brad or button.

PINWHEEL 3:  FLOWER PINWHEEL
Cut out template from pattern paper.  Fold over edges inwards.  Ink all pieces and adhere with a brad or button.

PINWHEEL 4:  6 LEAF PINWHEEL
You will need to cut out 6 of these templates.  Size template to the size you would like.  Ink all pieces first and then arrange them as per fig 2 below.  Fold over outside longer edges and adhere together with a brad / button.

PINWHEEL 5:  DOUBLE FLOWER PINWHEEL
Using the below template, cut out 2 pinwheels from either the same or contrasting papers.    Place one on top of the other and then fold over the outside edges.  Move it around a bit so that you have even gaps in your flaps.  Once you are happy, then adhere with a flower / brad.

PINWHEEL 6: CIRCLE PINWHEEL
Cut out template from pattern paper.  Fold over edges inwards.  Ink all pieces and adhere with a brad or button.
PINWHEEL 7:   BASIC PINWHEEL WITH A TWIST !
Create your basic pinwheel template out of pattern paper.  Then all you need to do is use your deckle scissors to define the outside edge to add a whole new twist to your pinwheel.  You can use your border punches too.. can create so many different types of pinwheels using this technique.

PINWHEEL 8:   DECONSTRUCTED PINWHEEL
Cut a variety of circles out with your circle punch/cutter and align them in a circle.  A quick and easy pinwheel.

EXTRA TEMPLATE:   Just in case you love IRIS FOLDING.. this is an amazing template to use.. lots of work though.
I loved them all so much that I have created my layout using all the various Pinwheels.    It is a bit busy.. but it gives you a good idea of the end effect.. LOL.
